This One Prompt Can Change How You Work

Imagine sitting across from a world-class executive coach—one who never forgets anything you’ve said, has zero ego, and synthesizes months of your thoughts, actions, and decisions into a few brutally honest, highly strategic insights.
Now imagine that coach is ChatGPT.
Here's what happened when I typed a simple sentence into the AI:
“Now that you know remember everything I’ve ever typed, tell me my blind spots.”
The response was insightful. And in doing so, it exposed strategic gaps I couldn’t see myself.
Note: This prompt works better if you’ve used ChatGPT with memory turned on and have had ongoing conversations. Otherwise, it’s like asking a stranger to audit your leadership style.
What Makes This Prompt So Powerful?
Blind spots in business aren’t just annoying—they’re expensive. They slow down delivery, dilute messaging, create bottlenecks, and burn out your team. The problem is: you can’t identify them on your own. That’s why we hire coaches, advisors, or consultants.
But now, there’s another option that’s available 24/7, knows your patterns, and is immune to your internal narratives.
When you ask this prompt, you’re talking to a model that’s been observing how you think, plan, prioritize, communicate, and execute over time. It’s picked up on your behaviors, contradictions, recurring friction points—and most importantly, it’s doing it without judgment or bias.
What It Surfaced for Me (And Might for You)
Here’s what the AI highlighted in my case:
I was holding onto perfectionism, which delayed progress and reduced output.
I had become the bottleneck on multiple initiatives, despite leading high-performing teams.
I wasn’t clearly articulating the value of my offers, which weakened conversions.
I had proprietary frameworks I wasn’t sharing openly—hiding my differentiation.
Each insight was backed by actual past conversations and patterns. Not fluff. Not theory. Just a mirror held up to my leadership and execution habits.
And the kicker? No human coach had ever been that direct—or that precise.
The Professional Edge: From Awareness to Strategy
As professionals, awareness is powerful—but it’s not enough. What we do next matters more.
So I followed up with a second prompt that transformed ChatGPT from a mirror into a strategic partner:
Bonus Prompt: Turn Insight Into Action
After it listed my blind spots, I typed:
“Now help me create a detailed, step-by-step plan to address each of these blind spots. Prioritize the steps by impact, and for each one, recommend specific tools, templates, or actions I can use. Where helpful, include suggestions for automations, sample scripts, or role-plays I can practice. I want a roadmap I can implement immediately.”
And just like that, the AI gave me:
A prioritized action plan
Tools to delegate and automate
Templates for clearer communication
Ideas for how to reframe my offers
Even sample dialogue to delegate more effectively
Conclusion
AI won’t replace honest self-reflection, but it can accelerate it. Asking ChatGPT to identify your blind spots—and then to help you act on them—can surface insights even seasoned professionals overlook. It’s not a replacement for human wisdom, but when used well, it can become a powerful strategic mirror.
Of course, any feedback—AI-generated or otherwise—should be reviewed objectively, cross-checked with your values, and viewed through an ethical lens. Not every suggestion will apply. But the clarity it offers? That’s worth exploring.
So if you’ve been using ChatGPT with memory on, give it a try. Ask the question. See what surfaces. It might just reveal what’s been holding you back—and what’s next.
